The Europeans, day two: ladies’ practice

Of course, at this point, you all know the results after the short dance in the ladies event (1. Adelina Sotnikova; 2. Julia Lipnitskaia; 3. Carolina Kostner). But if you allow me, I’ll invite you to follow me into the photo-story of yesterday, January 14, when, during the ladies’ practice, it was all about Carolina’s new short program; and Carolina’s short, skated on “Ave Maria”, entailed a wonderful new dress, with loads of Swarovski crystals and shades of blue. All eyes were on Carolina yesterday – mine included – but I couldn’t help noticing the seriousness of Julia Lipnitskaia when practicing or talking to Eteri Tutberidze and the joyful short program of Alena Leonova, skated on Russian traditional music (hats off to Nikolai Morozov, her coach, for this musical choice which suits Alena wonderful).

From now on, it’s all about Carolina and her arms; her long, graceful, beautiful arms.
