Three years after Sinead and John Kerr won the bronze at the Europeans (their second continental bronze, actually), the British did it again: this time, Penny Coomes and Nicholas Buckland proudly received their sparkling bronze medals at the end of the ice dancing in Budapest. What do these two dance couples have in common? Actually, their coach: Mr. Evgeni Platov, Olympic champion with Oksana Grishuk in Lillehammer-1994 and Nagano-1998. At the end of the day, Penny and Nick were ecstatic – and their coach couldn’t help but smiling, thrilled by this wonderful performance of his students. And it was indeed a memorable night for all three of them: the Michael Jackson routine was probably the most energetic of the event; the entire arena clapped and cheered for Penny and Nicholas and rewarded the program with standing ovation.
