AMBER, MONE, JIA, ISABEAU – WHAT A WOMEN’S EVENT IN OBERSTDORF

Amber Glenn entered the season with a beaming smile and a win at Nebelhorn Trophy. Great programs to accompany her on the road to the Olympics and a lesson she learned well, consistency, and that she knows now she can trust.

From Nebelhorn Trophy in September till the moment we publish these photos, at the end of the year, we know Mone Chiba has had a fantastic season already. And we saw that brilliance in Oberstdorf too – no doubt, Mone is born to skate.

Telling the story of Juliet – that’s who Mone Chiba is throughout this season

Nebelhorn Trophy was Jia Shin’s only second senior event of her career, and she won the bronze medal in Oberstdorf. Plus: she’s an incredible talent, and she’ll learn so much from this big season, from this Olympic season.

Isabeau Levito and her team chose a Sophia Loren medley for the short program this season – Olympics are in Italy and Sophia Loren is, of course, an icon, the icon. And you already know Isabeau’s mother is Italian, so with this program Isabeau surely feels at home.

And the music from the movie Cinema Paradiso – another great choice with the Olympics in mind – embraces Isabeau Levito beautifully

Canada’s joyful Kaiya Ruiter in Oberstdorf

Hana Yoshida, how much we like her! Not a great season for her so far, but through her choice of music, programs, personality, she can really run away with your attention

Romania’s Julia Sauter also started her season in Oberstdorf, at Nebelhorn Trophy, showcasing her performing qualities and programs for the Olympic season. She qualified a spot for Romania at Milano-Cortina, and she’s getting ready for her first Olympics.

Oh, those arms of Julia Kaiser… But also: that injury of Julia, that forced her to withdraw after the short program in Oberstdorf…
